Most commonly used laundry agents consist of 20+ chemicals that are harmful to our bodies and the environment. Too much laundry product can also leave a build-up of bacteria in collars, pockets, and other tight spots due to poor rinsing that can be toxic to health. Synthetic detergents are known to create mortality patterns in fish and aquatic invertebrates as they pollute our water supply. Laundry detergent also comes packaged in plastic which contributes to plastic pollution that is tarnishing our land and sea life.
Our Dropps Laundry Detergent Pods use far less unnecessary chemicals and carry no dyes, enzymes, or chlorine as well as being cruelty-free. The pod membrane is a biodegradable, water soluble film made of Polyvinyl alcohol. When the film dissolves in your washer and enters the water stream, micro-organisms that commonly exist in nature breakdown the PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) to water and carbon dioxide. As many as 55 species of micro-organisms (including bacteria, yeasts, and fungi) that are naturally present in water and soils are capable of breaking down PVA. Research has shown that in river water, PVAs take no more than 1 month to break down into their component parts.
